Venture Community

At INSEAD I teach a class on New Business Ventures where I teach how founders, business angels, and venture capitals build successful startups. If you are a student at INSEAD in the MBA or in the GEMBA, you can take that. You can also take the class if you are not an INSEAD student as it offered as an open enrollment program. You can apply here.

Beyond my class at INSEAD I also organize the Venture Community. The Venture Community emerged out of free webinar that I taught on “Venture Capital, Business Angels, and Startups“. While I had originally expected around 400 people, I eventually taught more than 10.000 people. A lot of people expressed the wish to continue to learn and to engage with one another.

Who is part of the community? The community is composed of different kinds of people. There are founders and employees of start-ups, business angels, and venture capitalists, but also many people who want to learn about venture capital.

Membership Benefits. Members have access to the following:

(1) Live Workshops

At least 5 times per year I teach a webinar exclusive for the members of the community. In these webinars we take a deep dive a specific topic. The goal of these webinars is that you can build expertise and can stay up to date. In the following some examples of recent or scheduled webinars:

How to scale a venture ?
How to raise capital ?
How to evaluate ventures ?
Network strategies for entrepreneurs, business angels, and venture capitalists
What kind of funding for your startup? Bootstrapping? Business Angels? VC? Family and friends? Kickstarter? SPACs?
Avoiding and overcoming founder conflict

When discussing these topics we draw on scientific research, look at recent developments, and study best practices.

(2) Access to Workshop Material
You have access to all the workshop material. I will also add additional material so that you can deepen your expertise. You have access to an evolving library of content, tools, frameworks and techniques that help you on being successful in building and investing in startups.

(3) Access to Community
An active Slack group for interacting with people that are building businesses, working on themselves, learning new skills, and putting themselves out there every day.

Every second Friday of the month I have an open call. You can join these calls and discuss your professional challenges with me and other members of the community.

(5) Small Group Sessions
We come together on a regular basis in a small group of at most 14 people and discuss professional challenges with me and other members of the community.
